Islamic Activities

I am a proud Muslim and have been an active member of the Muslim community.

I am a former president, vice-president, secretary of the Islamic Society of UNSW. You can find some of my articles and sermons on that Web site. I am currently still involved as part of the Islamic College project, a project to build a residential college for Muslim students at or near UNSW Kensington campus.

Recently, after seeing Muslims' civil rights being eroded in Australia through the introduction of so-called anti-terror laws, I was one of the people who founded the Australian Muslim Civil Rights Advocacy Network (AMCRAN). I also felt it was time for Muslims to become more politically active, so I became involved in the Australian Muslim Electoral Taskforce (AustMET).
